XYO Protocol (XYO)

From CryptoWiki

Basics

  • "XYO (as of 12-2019) is a decentralized network of devices that anonymously collects and validates geospatial data, or data with a geographic component"
  • From their Chainlink partnership announcement (20-5-2019):

"Since 2012, with a Dataist focus, XYO has developed trusted IoT technology that connects the digital world with the physical one. In 2018, the company unveiled the XYO Network, the world’s first geospatial blockchain network backed by cryptography. With more than 1 million location-verifying beacons around the planet, XYO technology rivals the GPS network, and radically transforms the world’s leading industries. Partners include mapping giant Esri, FedEx Research Institute, Re/Max Mexico and Spaceflight Industries. XYO Advisors come from leading organizations including National Geographic and the World Economic Forum. For more information, visit us at www.xy.company and https://xyo.network."

Tech

  • From their website (as of 12-2019):

"Four Components

Sentinels are geospatial data witnesses. They create unique lists of the data observe heuristics and vouch for the certainty and accuracy of the heuristic by producing temporal ledgers.

Bridges are heuristic transcribers. They securely relay heuristic ledgers from Sentinels to Diviners. The most important aspect of a Bridge is that a Diviner can be sure that the heuristic ledgers that are received from a Bridge has not been altered in any way.

Archivist components store heuristics in a decentralized form with the goal of having all historical ledgers stored, yet without a requirement to do so. Even if some data is lost or becomes temporarily unavailable, the system continues to function, but with slightly reduced certainty.

A Diviner answers a given question by analyzing historical data that has been stored by the XYO Network. To accomplish this, heuristics stored in the XYO Network must have a high level of Proof of Origin to measure the validity and accuracy of the heuristic by judging the witness based on its Proof of Origin."

Roadmap

  • It seems like their website has not been updated in a while (10-4-2020). Since they advertise a release in 2019Q3 of one of their clients.
  • Their roadmap can be viewed here (10-4-2020). The action points on their roadmap are mostly about launching their blockchain apps and releasing the four components described above under 'Tech'. All of these are scheduled to be ready before or in Q2 2020.
