Kolektivo (KNT)

From CryptoWiki

 Basics

  • Based in: Curacao
  • Founded in:
  • Mainnet release: "The CuraDAI payment system is set to officially launch in July this year" (21-6-2021)
  • A social-impact DAO on the island and working with DAOs in general. Works on Regenerative Finance (ReFi).
  • From the Prime blog (6-12-2022):
"Kolektivo is building a toolkit for real-world regenerative economies that leverage the latest Web 3.0 innovations. The Kolektivo tools will allow local communities to coordinate their efforts to tap into the emerging Natural Asset market and provides them with the framework to manage and govern their community currency to enhance further their ability to coordinate development."

History

"When the pandemic hit the island, Luuk and I reconnected after a two-year silence due to our other passion projects. Luuk is in the tech and innovation industry and I am in the sustainability and social sector. I only knew about blockchain and cryptocurrencies from the headlines in the news, but thanks to the predecessor of Kolektivo (CuraDAO) I was granted a small amount of ETH to work on a project, and I was hooked."

Stablecoin

"Every time an individual uses the CuraDAI contract, to lock DAI and mint CuraDAI, a small fee (spread between the buy & sell price) is sent directly to the CuraDAO as a contribution to the island."

"CuraDAI is a DeFI based digital currency that serves as a (better) alternative to the local currency of Curaçao. We've first hand experienced the opportunities the Ethereum and DAI ecosystem provides and want to give this power to the local population. Therefore we're creating a version of DAI that leverages the DeFI ecosystem while tailoring to the local needs of Curaçao."

Roadmap

  • From an interview with Andy Kirchner (21-6-2021):

"We are creating a food forest, funded via NFTs with which we can gather data about food production on the island and really calculate what the possibilities are. We are developing a local social media on which CuraDAI is going to function as a reward system."

Usage

  • From an interview with Andy Kirchner (21-6-2021):

"CuraDAI has been in beta for over a year and a half now and we have seen the interest grow. After a series of grassroots workshops we gained a substantial amount of users. One local supermarket, Esperamos, for example, already accepts CuraDAI, and that is where you need to start. Iyengar Wellness, for example, is a holistic health and wellness practitioner who participated in a grant round of Kolektivo and makes local herbal teas, all natural soap and essential oils from locally resourced products and accepts payments in CuraDAI. We have had legal services, business consultants, coaches and therapists joining in the past months, even during two severe lockdowns. "
