Basics
- From this blog (4-5-2020):
"Pioneering the social money movement, Roll offers an intuitive way for creators to quickly spin up a personal token in a non-technical fashion. Their waitlist is booming and they currently have over 150 creators on the platform to date."

Bugs/Hacks
- From Crypto Briefing (14-3-2021):
"Following a major breach of social money platform Roll, many popular personal tokens built on top of the platform have crashed. Based on on-chain analysis from researcher Igor Igamberdiev, it would appear that a key hot wallet at Roll was compromised. “As a result, an attacker earned almost [$5.7 million],” they said. With this key wallet compromised, the attacker was thus able to sell various personal tokens built on the Roll infrastructure. Igamberdiev also suggested that the attack may have been an “inside job” based on the attack’s anatomy."
"$5.7 million gone, ripped from the liquidity pools of multiple DeFi influencers and “celebrities”. Over 7 hours since the attack and still no public statement from @tryrollhq. Saying "It's 4AM, we'll announce tomorrow" is bad enough, but not following up on that is even worse. The tokens were taken from a Roll hot wallet, which not only received social tokens from Roll’ multisig but was also sponsored by Roll multisig owners. As Ameen pointed out on Twitter; this attack could have been avoided if Roll had not “insisted on a fixed supply token setup where they sit on a time bomb of 10% of the supply of each social token minted on their platform Apparently, the hacker was not bullish long-term on any of the celebrities, as they chose to immediately dump each token for ETH and escape through Tornado Swap."
