Basics

  • Bitcoin Smart forked from Bitcoin in early 2018, and prioritizes building an ecosystem around the forked chain that focuses on smart contract and decentralized application development, easy token issuance and listing on the protocol’s decentralized exchange, and instant transaction confirmation.
  • At the fork, Bitcoin Smart credited 100 BCS for every 1 BTC. Bitcoin Smart capped the total BCS supply at 2.1 billion, and there seems to be no pre-mine. Bitcoin Smart also plans to launch a protocol “sub-token” for use in the network’s smart contract and decentralized exchange features and applications.
