  • The application layer can be the third layer on top of a blockchain. Layer 2 is the Network Layer and the Protocol Layer is the first layer, or the base blockchain.
  • The application layer has its focus on use cases.
  • Examples of Application layers in the Ethereum ecosystem include: TenX, dY/dX and Flixxo
