- is planning to launch Unit-e in the second half of this year (2019). The organisation told reporters their goal for the cryptocurrency’s processing time is 10,000 transactions per second. Update 4-2019: testnet has been released. As of 9-2019 Unit-e hasn't been launched yet.
Team, investors, etc.
- According to the press release, the core team developing Unit-e is based in Berlin and consists of “open-source and distributed systems engineers.”
- DTR includes researchers from seven major U.S. universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, as Bloomberg reports.
- Funded by Distributed Technologies Research (DTR) — a non-profit organization based in Switzerland, whose official launch was announced on the same day as the Unit-e press release.
- The organisation reportedly received backing from blockchain investment fund Pantera Capital (Joey Krug is connected with both DTR and Pantera)
