Shitcoin

- A derogatory term used when talking about a (presumed) scam cryptocurrency project.
- Some Bitcoin maximalists call all other coins except Bitcoin 'Shitcoins'.
- Others call them by the less negative term; altcoin. However, most people in the crypto space prefer 'Cryptocurrency" instead of Altcoin.
- The origin can be traced back to a post on Bitcointalk on 8-11-2010.
- Andreas Brekken runs a website called shitcoin.com, which talks about crypto projects.
