Basics

  • One of the many forks off of Bitcoin in late 2017
  • Bitcoin Stake forked from Bitcoin at the end of 2017 and, although originally a Proof-of-Work-based protocol, is planning to transition to Proof-of-Stake to improve mining decentralization and optimize certain on-chain transaction characteristics that the team dislikes about Bitcoin.
