 Basics

"NFTfi is a streamlined marketplace for loans that use NFTs, like CryptoKitties or beyond, as collateral. This allows NFT collectors to borrow money against their idle digital collectibles and lenders to provide liquidity to these borrowers, with the underlying NFTs serving as payments in the case of any defaults."

"The first platform for NFT collateralized loans. Users can earn a yield by lending out ETH or DAI loans to users who put up their NFTs as collateral. Or Users can receive ETH or DAI loans by placing their NFTs up as collateral. NFTfi has already seen impressive growth after launching just this year and I expect big things from the platform going forward (Note: I am an investor in NFTfi, so I’m very biased!)"

How it works

  • From this blog (23-9-2020):

"This project is halfway between the world of DeFi and NFT, allowing anyone who owns inactive or unused digital assets to use them as collateral for a loan. As every lending platform there are lenders and borrowers. Borrowers can put any ERC-721 token for collateralization. Other users can now offer you a loan and if its accepted, the ETH is paid from the lender’s account and the NFT is locked into the NFTfi smart contract. Once the loan is repaid, the asset will be returned to the first owner. For the lenders, instead, they can browse their favourite NFTs like Gods Unchained, Decentraland, Cryptovoxels, Cryptokitties or any other NFT and offer loans on assets they’re happy to back."
