* Term used by [[Layer Two|L2s]] that launch using the [[Open Source|open source]] code of [[Optimism (OP)|Optimism]]. [[Optimism]] wants to become a 'super-chain', attracting [[MANY|many]] L2s and having interoperability between them. [[Base (Coinbase L2 chain)|Base]] was the first [[fork]] of the OP codebase (2-2023), from [[Delphi Digital]]:
